If you happen to visit their LinkedIn profile and find that they have listed their experience in SEO as three months, rather than the three years they told you they had, that means you have the knowledge you need to not hire them. Checking on someone means using their social networks to ensure they are who they say they are, and can do what they say they can do, and if you don’t use this free and smart way of checking up on someone, then frankly, you deserve the person you get.
